What is Concentrated Aloe Vera Juice?

Aloe vera concentrate comes from removing the water content from the fresh aloe pulp by evaporative or lyophilized heat treatment. This is done to make it more productive for businesses. Transportation is cheaper. Once in the packaging factory it is necessary to add water and aromas to this concentrate since they have been lost in the process. You can add some pulp to give it the appearance of "natural" aloe vera juice. Maltodextrin is also usually added to this concentrate. A caking agent that does not add anything to the properties other than getting a better mix of the product. This thickener contains starch and may contain other chemicals. The exact term to identify this type of juice on the market is "STABILIZED ALOE VERA GEL" or aloe vera extract. This concentrating process eliminates many of the benefits of aloe vera. The big companies usually use this format because the cultivation centre is far away, it can be in China or Dominican Republic, and the factories are in the United States or Germany. Therefore, the shipping costs would be very high and the product would not be of great revenue. By means of lyophilization or drying process, 100 litres of aloe vera are converted into a 1 kilo of powder, and depending on each company, the amount of juice they end up packing can be a very profitable production.

Nectar or aloe vera soft drink

We also find aloe vera nectar on the market. This is nothing more than a soft drink that contains less than 50% aloe vera concentrate. The other 50% is water to which you also add 50 grams of sugar and flavourings. As we have already seen, concentrated aloe vera does not contain all the health benefits of the aloe vera. In addition, we must not forget that products rich in sugar are not adequate for a balanced and healthy diet.
